CritArr - Critical area of an overstressed asperity for initiating dynamic ruptures


Purpose : MATLAB scripts for estimating critical area of an overstressed asperity for initiating self-sustained/runaway dynamic ruptures. Package containes 4 functions:
  1. CritArr - a wrapper function returning maximum of AUenishi2009 and A2, which is a universal estimate valid for whole range of strength parameter S.
  2. AUenishi2009 - implementation of estimate by Uenishi (2009), valid for lower S  
  3. A2 - implementation of estimate A2 by Galis et al. (2015), valid for higher S
  4. A1 - implementation of simplified/approximate estimate A1 by Galis et al. (2015), valid for higher S
